Willmar man arrested after stolen car found

HAWICK -- The Minnesota State Patrol, assisted by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, arrested a 48-year-old Willmar man Sunday for the theft of a 2013 Chevy Malibu in Grant County.

According to authorities, the man had stopped the car at state Highway 23 and 160th Street Northeast but was prevented from restarting the car by the OnStar system. The man was arrested after the GPS system in the car tracked the location of the vehicle.


BELGRADE -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office investigated the theft of three pickup trucks from a rural Belgrade location on the 10000 block of 255th Avenue Northeast on Saturday. Two of the pickups were recovered. No other information was available.

Criminal damage

RAYMOND -- A resident in the 12000 block of 105th Avenue Southwest reported a mailbox was damaged by a pumpkin. The complainant heard a loud noise between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Saturday and saw a vehicle with a loud muffler drive by fast.
