Willmar Hobby Lobby will open in January
WILLMAR — The Hobby Lobby store that's currently under construction in Willmar is scheduled to open in about two months.
In a press release issued Friday afternoon, representatives from the national retail chain of craft and home decor stores said the 55,000 square-foot building is projected to open in mid-January.
The store is located at Highway 71 and 1st Street South, next to Runnings,
The store is expected to create 35-50 jobs.
The pay will be $15.35 an hour for full-time employees and $10.23 an hour for part-time employees.
Hobby lobby currently has 12 Minnesota stores and more than 700 across the country.
"The success of our stores in Minnesota is a good indicator that Willmar shoppers will be pleased with the quality, selection and value we offer in the craft and home decor market," said John Schumacher, assistant vice president of advertising.
"New customers and customers already familiar with the Hobby Lobby shopping experience are eagerly anticipating this store opening," he said.
According to the press release, each store has more than 75,000 craft and home decor products, making it the nation's largest privately-owned arts and crafts retailer.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.
