Woman caught on camera repeatedly kicking dog inside elevator

AVENTURA, Fla. -- A Florida woman was arrested after surveillance video inside an elevator she was in showed her repeatedly kicking a small dog, authorities announced Thursday, Oct. 5.

Keevonna Wilson, 24, was arrested on animal cruelty charges, and the dog was removed by Miami-Dade Animal Services and received medical treatment, according to a local television report.

Police said the incident occurred on Sept. 20 inside the elevator of Artech Condominiums in Aventura, Fla., KCCI-TV reported.

The dog appeared to be in good health upon examination but was noticeably in pain when its abdomen and lower back were touched, according to KCCI-TV.

The medical report stated that the dog had bruises on its abdominal area and the outside parts of its ears. The dog has since been placed with a foster family, NBC6 news said in a report.

Wilson was booked into jail and later released.
