Minn. man, Fargo man ID’d as victims in fatal I-94 crash
VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of a Fargo man and a Crane Lake, Minn., man who died after a vehicle drove the wrong way on Interstate 94 near Valley City on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
According to the patrol, a car driven by Kerseh Grupee, 35, of Fargo, was going the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-94 when it collided with a pickup driven by Anthony Cornelius, 31, of Crane Lake, Minn.
The pickup was eastbound and passing another vehicle in the left lane when the crash occurred.
Both drivers were killed. Grupee was ejected from his car. Emergency workers had to extricate Cornelius from the pickup.
Grupee and Cornelius were transported to CHI Mercy Health where they were pronounced dead, the patrol said.
Timothy Cornelius, 53, of Orr, Minn., a passenger in the pickup, was also transported to Chi Mercy Health for treatment of minor injuries and released.
Grupee was not wearing a seatbelt, but an airbag deployed, the patrol said. Both Dodge occupants were wearing seat belts and airbags deployed.
