Fire destroys farm shed
BLOMKEST — A Sunday morning fire destroyed a shed on a farm place located near the intersection of Kandiyohi County Roads 3 and 11 north of Svea.
The shed and its contents, including tools and a motorcycle, were destroyed by the fire, said Blomkest Fire Chief Matt Erickson. The Blomkest firefighters responded to the call around 10:30 a.m. They were assisted with mutual aid by the Lake Lillian and Willmar departments. The Kandiyohi County Rescue and Sheriff's Office also responded.
The fire engulfed the shed. Its cause is under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
Driver seriously hurt in crash with semi-truck on Highway 7
PRINSBURG – Mark Lee Gray, 19, of Windom suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis following a collision with a semi-trailer truck at the intersection of Highway 7 and Kandiyohi County Road 7 in Prinsburg at 2:49 a.m. Sunday.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Gray was driving a 1998 GMC Safari van northbound and crossing Highway 7 when it collided with a
2018 Volvo semi-tractor pulling a 2011 CUB semi-trailer.
The driver of the truck, Eddie Dean Bray, 61, of Foley, was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for non-life-threatening injuries.
Man injured in rollover near Milan
MILAN – A 20-year-old man was treated at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital for injuries he suffered in a one-vehicle rollover on Highway 59 near Milan in Kragero Township of Chippewa County at 4:15 a.m. on Sunday.
Diosino Raphael, address not known, was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger northbound on Highway 59 when it left the roadway to the right near milepost 61, entered the ditch and rolled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
He suffered non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is a possible factor in the accident, according to the Patrol report.
WILLMAR — A handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle while it was unattended on the 1200 block of Pleasant View Drive Southeast Willmar, its owner reported Sunday.
A bicycle and its lock were discovered stolen Sunday morning from the 200 block of Fifth Street Southwest, Willmar.
A wallet was reported stolen Friday from a vehicle left unlocked in a driveway on the 1100 block of Monongalia Avenue Southwest, Willmar.
A man reported that he was missing $500 cash after giving an individual a ride in his vehicle on Friday afternoon in Willmar.
A shopper reported that her bag was stolen Friday evening while at the Herberger's store in the Kandi Mall. Police and store officials are reviewing store videotape.
An older model, aluminum pontoon boat lift was reported stolen Friday from a location in front of a business on the 10000 block of 71st Street Northeast, Spicer.
WILLMAR — Police are investigating a report of an attempted burglary around 2 a.m. Saturday at a residence on the 900 block of Pleasant View Drive Southeast, Willmar.
