A dense fog advisory issued for west central Minn., Stevens Co. may get snow

CHANHASSEN, Minn. - A very moist airmass spread across the snow pack which led to widespread fog today in west central Minnesota. The fog will become dense tonight as winds become light and variable, according to the National Weather Service.

A dense fog advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday, with visibility limited to 1/4 mile or less across west central Minnesota.

As temperatures drop to near freezing tonight, any untreated surfaces may become slippery tonight due to icing from the dense fog.

Arctic air will return with dangerous wind chills possible Wednesday night into Friday morning.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of western Minnesota, on a line north of Milbank, S.D. to Morris to Brainerd, according to the National Weather Service. This includes Stevens, Douglas and Todd counties.

In these areas, light wintry precipitation is expect tonight into early Tuesday morning. Snow will develop in this area bringing around3 inches of accumulation. It will also bring areas of drizzle to the rest of the area.
