Train engine fire under investigation by CP Rail
WATKINS — The cause of a fire that damaged a train engine Saturday evening near Watkins is under investigation by the CP Rail Police Department.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, the Watkins fire and rescue departments were paged around 8:30 p.m. Saturday to a train on fire near state Highway 55. The fire on primary train engine was extinguished. It damaged a lower drive motor.
A second engine was started and train crews moved the train onto another track as fire and rescue crews assisted with traffic control at the affected intersections. No injuries were reported and the value of the damage is unknown at this time.
RAYMOND — Graffiti was reported around 11:45 a.m. Sunday at the Raymond Post Office, 216 Spicer Ave.
WILLMAR — Slashed tires on a vehicle were reported around 11:15 a.m. Saturday along the 900 block of Fifth Street Southwest.
WILLMAR — An assault was reported around 1:20 a.m. Sunday along the 400 block of Sixth Street Southwest.
WILLMAR — Two males, age 19 and 16, were cited for disorderly conduct, assault and underage consumption after police were called around 7:20 p.m. Friday to McDonalds, 717 First St. S., regarding an assault happening in a restroom.
WILLMAR — The theft of a check was reported around 1:30 p.m. Saturday along the 400 block of Trott Avenue Southwest.
