Construction worker dies after falling 150 feet from a Minn. elevator
TENNEY, Minn.—A 21-year-old construction worker died after falling 150 feet from the top of an elevator here Thursday afternoon, Oct. 5, the Wilkin County Sheriff's Office reported.
The man was working at the Wheaton Dumont Co-op Elevator with two other men on a platform. They were adjusting another platform to connect to the platform that they were on when the man fell, the sheriff's office reported.
The accident was reported about 2:45 p.m. Tenney is about 25 miles southeast of Wahpeton-Breckenridge.
The man was dead at the scene, the sheriff's office reported. His name was not being released until his family was notified.
The man was an employee of Gateway Building Systems of Fergus Falls, the sheriff's office reported.
Other agencies responding to the scene of the incident include the Minnesota State Patrol, Ambulance Service Inc. of Breckenridge, and Campbell Rescue, the report said.
An investigation is pending, the report said.
