Spicer woman injured when jeep collides with semi

SPICER — A Spicer woman was injured Tuesday when the jeep she was driving collided with a semi near Lake Lillian.

The accident happened around 11:56 a.m. at the intersection of state Highway 7 and Kandiyohi County Road 8., in east Lake Lillian Township.

According to the State Patrol, Lavon Rae Ziebell, 65, of Spicer, was driving a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on County Road 8 when she struck a 2005 Freightliner truck that was traveling west on Highway 7.

Ziebell was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the semi, Douglas Michael Knauf, 61, of Apollo Beach, Florida, was not injured.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department, Lake Lillian Fire Department, Lake Lillian Ambulance and Willmar Ambulance responded to the scene.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
