Two injured in motorcycle-deer crash

SPICER — Two people were seriously injured Sunday night when the motorcycle they were on collided with a deer on North Shore Drive near County Road 4 in Irving Township.

According to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, a deep jumped out in front of a group of three motorcycles traveling east on North Shore Drive. One motorcycle collided with the deer, injuring the driver and a passenger.

A 23-year-old man was Spicer and a 23-year-old woman from Atwater were both injured. The news release does not identify the victims and does not specify which person was driving.

The man was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital and the woman was taken by ambulance to Rice Hospital in Willmar.

Assisting the Sheriff's Office were Willmar Ambulance, New London Ambulance, New London Fire Department, Spicer First Responders, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad and Life Link Air Ambulance.
