Two injured in crash in Montevideo

MONTEVIDEO – Two women from Montevideo were injured Friday afternoon in a collision with a gravel truck.

According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol,  a 2011 Ford Escape was traveling south on Chippewa County Road 15 and entered Minnesota Highway 7 into the path of a 2007 International Load King gravel truck. The truck struck the Ford on the front passenger side.

The driver of the Ford, Betty Lou Lovhaug, 72, of Montevideo, and passenger Loretta Mary Skogberg, 65, of Montevideo, were transported to Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the truck, Ricky William Hanson, 45, of Raymond, was uninjured.

All involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts.

Assisting the State Patrol at the scene were the Montevideo Police Department, Montevideo Fire Department and Montevideo Ambulance.
