Dawson-Boyd approves $990 levy

DAWSON -- In the Dawson-Boyd School District, 534 voters cast ballots for the $990-per-pupil levy, while 170 voted against the levy, according to unofficial results.

Superintendent Brad Madsen was grateful for the community support, which will allow the district to keep programs and update technology.

"People here have always supported the school district very well," Madsen said Tuesday night.

The district had asked voters to approve the $990 levy to replace levies of $454.23 and $233.45 and provide an increase. It will last 10 years and will generate an additional $283,292 in state aid and $256,178 in property taxes.
