WILLMAR — The Willmar School Board will have a regular meeting Monday before holding its annual Truth-in-Taxation public hearing in the boardroom on the first floor of the Willmar Education and Arts Center, 611 Fifth St. S.W.

The regular board meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m., and the public hearing will begin at 6 p.m.

During the regular meeting, board members will review the Willmar Community Education and Recreation partnership agreement between Willmar Public Schools and the city of Willmar. A closed meeting to consider labor negotiations strategy with non-certified staff is also scheduled.

Public comments are allowed during the regular meeting — once at the beginning of the meeting for issues on the agenda and again at the end of the meeting for comments not related to the agenda.

The Truth-in-Taxation hearing offers citizens a chance to comment on the district's budget or local tax levy. The hearing will include an overview of the district's property tax levy and of its budget.

The board plans to adjourn at 6 p.m. for the public hearing and to reconvene after the hearing to approve the 2018 property tax levy.
