Willmar City Council to meet Monday

WILLMAR -- The Willmar City Council will meet at 7 p.m. today in the chambers at the Municipal Utilities Building, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W. The council will consider a resolution to sell $1.95 million on general obligation bonds for street improvements.

The council will also consider approval of a bid of $1,068,195 from Duininck Inc. of Prinsburg for work on Willmar Avenue Southwest to realign and extend the street from 22nd Street Southwest into the new industrial park.

The council will also consider awarding a bid of $513,618 to Kuechle Underground of Kimball for improvements on Fourth Avenue Southwest.

The council will also consider approving the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract, the contract for officers with the Willmar Police Department, for Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2014. The contract includes general wage increases of 1.5 percent in 2013 and 2 percent in 2014, plus changes to the payment of health insurance premiums.

The council will receive an update on the Green Step Cities program and consider a four-day temporary on-sale liquor license for the Willmar Fraternal Order of Eagles.
