Cause of Spicer house fire under investigation

SPICER — The cause of a Wednesday morning house fire in Spicer is under investigation by the Spicer Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal.

According to Spicer Fire Chief Mike Holme, fire crews responded to the call around 8:20 a.m. at 106 Lake Ave. N. and found smoke coming from the eves and rafters of the home.

The fire involved multiple floors of the home and the origin wasn’t determined, Holme said.

According to county property records, the home is owned by Jack and Beth Mutnick of Spicer.

Also responding were the New London fire and ambulance departments, Spicer First Responders and the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad.
