Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission executive director Aaron Backman created a half-page glossy brochure to complete promotion of the four-lane highway on state Highway 23 between Willmar and Interstate 94. The brochure says Willmar is the largest outstate city without four-lane access and that having a four-lane highway will attract and retain businesses and jobs in the region.

The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota has taken over management of the project to renovate and rent out the building at 313 Fourth St. S.W. in Willmar. Foxhole Brewhouse will be expanding and new restaurants will soon be opening their doors.  A local foods hub, where producers can bring crops to prepare and sell, will no longer be located in the building known as Historic 313. Willmar Downtown Development Inc. has begun looking for a new location for the Hub.
