Raymond woman reported missing this morning; search looks northwest of town

RAYMOND - A woman believed to be in her 40s has been reported missing here Monday morning.

Law enforcement is hoping to locate the woman before the winds of the approaching winter storm pick and reduce visibility this afternoon.

A relative reported the Raymond woman missing shortly before 10 a.m. Monday morning.

Law enforcement and fire department personnel are searching an area northwest of Raymond.

One witness reported seeing the woman walking out of town about 8:45 a.m. this morning. The woman reportedly walks a nature trail in an acreage northwest of Raymond on a regular basis, according to property owner Don Knott.

Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog said the search consists of two sheriff deputies and Raymond Fire Department personnel, all on snowmobiles. He has requested snowshoes, thermal imaging equipment and the ATV with tracks from his department in Willmar to aid in the search.
