Driver faints, knocks out power around Kandi Mall

WILLMAR -- A Fresnos, Texas, woman fainted while driving east on 19th Avenue Southeast in Willmar on Tuesday, crashing head-on into a utility pole and knocking out power throughout the area around the Kandi Mall. She was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Christina Cuezas, 29, told Willmar police that she was feeling lightheaded before the accident. After hitting the utility pole, the 1996 Ford Windstar Cuezas was driving continued across a parking lot, before finally coming to an abrupt stop after hitting the concrete foundation of the former Big Bear store. Police responding to the scene at 2:25 p.m. found Cuezas unconscious.

Power was returned to the area soon after the collision, according to the Willmar Police Department.
