Woman has died from Wednesday crash

WILLMAR -- Jenna L. Van Buren, 19, of Willmar, died as a result of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash around 11 a.m. Wednesday along U.S. Highway 71 north of Willmar.

Van Buren's grandmother, Marilyn Faber-Schafer, confirmed this morning that the young woman was taken to a Twin Cities hospital and that she has died.

According to the State Patrol, Van Buren was driving a 1998 Mercury that collided with a 2005 Ford van driven by Paul A. Wier, 50, of Osakis, at the intersection of Highway 71 and County Road 90, also known as 37th Ave. N.E.

Van Buren was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar and then was airlifted out to the Twin Cities. Weir was not injured.
