County commissioners to hold last meeting of 2009 next week

WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will hold its final meeting of the year Tuesday.

The regular business meeting begins at 10 a.m. and is held on the second floor of the Health and Human Services Building, located at 2200 23rd St. N.E. in Willmar.

Items on the agenda include certifying the 2010 budget, setting the 2010 employee pay scale, approving the 2010 contract agreement with Department of Corrections employees and approving a memorandum of understanding for county dispatchers.

The commissioners will also set their own salary for the coming year. They did not accept a salary increase for 2009.

The commissioners are also expected to approve a purchase agreement with the MinnWest Technology Campus for two county-owned buildings that were part of the former Willmar Regional Treatment Center. The commissioners will authorize final payment on the 16-bed Community Behavioral Health Hospital.

Other issues include a proposal to increase booking fees from $10 to $15, renewal of solid waste haulers licenses, transferring capital equipment funds to the computer communications maintenance fund and approval of the sheriff's agreement with the city of Pennock.

Prior to the regular meeting, the commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. as the Family Services Committee. Items on that agenda include updates and programs and approval of contracts with Lutheran Social Service, Woodland Centers, Prairie Lakes Youth Programs, Project Turnabout, Workforce Centers and Critical Signal Technologies.
