Willmar Fests Senior Ambassadors crowned

WILLMAR -- Newly crowned Willmar Fests Senior Ambassadors Marvin Kinzler and Mardette DeJoy enjoyed a personalized version of the John Anderson hit “Swingin’” performed Wednesday at the Willmar Community Center by Wendell Nash and Bob Whitney of Whitney Music.

Kinzler is a native of Gackle, N.D., who worked for Willmar Poultry for 38 years. “Marde” (Egge) DeJoy was raised in Atwater and has lived in Willmar since 2003, after moving from Florida.

The couple is engaged to be married July 6.

In the crowd of 160 people for the opening event of 2014 Willmar Fests were the reigning royalty and candidates and outgoing senior ambassadors Don and Donna Evenson.
