Vehicles entered, damaged

WILLMAR — Police continue to receive reports of vehicles being entered and contents taken during the night hours. A resident on the 1800 block of Becker Avenue Southeast reported Wednesday that a truck was vandalized. A car on the 1500 block of Becker Avenue Southeast was entered, and cash was taken from a vehicle on the 400 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast, its owner reported Wednesday. The right passenger window was smashed on a vehicle on the 1100 block of Second Street Southeast on Wednesday, its owner reported.

Apparent car theft thwarted

WILLMAR — A 10-year-old boy was stopped from taking a vehicle when the owner saw him enter the vehicle on the 300 block of Becker Avenue Southwest around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday. The youth said he had given a man $10 after the man told him he could drive the car if he paid him.


WILLMAR — A 20-year-old male was arrested in a suspected burglary after a resident on the 500 block of Kandiyohi Avenue Southwest, Willmar, reported hearing scratching and a banging noise at the residence around 7:55 a.m. Wednesday.

Window peeker

WILLMAR — A resident on the 200 block of Trott Avenue Southeast told police that someone peeked in the window of the home around 10:22 p.m. Tuesday.


WILLMAR — A 24-inch Nex PX boy’s bicycle, black in color, was stolen from a residence on the 1400 block of 16th Street Southwest in Willmar on Wednesday, it was reported by the owner.

District Court, Chippewa County

MONTEVIDEO — The court ordered a warrant be issued for Lance Eric Sandven, 50, of Clara City, after he failed to appear for a sentencing Tuesday in Chippewa County District Court in Montevideo.

A jury found Sandven guilty on June 18 of three felony charges of harassment − violating a restraining order.

The complaint alleges he made contact February via mobile phone and electronic communication devices with a woman in violation of a restraining order.

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 18 to answer a subsequent felony charge of harassment − violating a restraining order filed July 2 in Chippewa County. The complaint charges that on June 10 he sent messages to the woman and her daughter in violation of the restraining order.

Yellow Medicine County

GRANITE FALLS — Anthony Iverson, 24, of Echo, must serve consecutive 160-day jail sentences for convictions on two felony counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.

He was sentenced Tuesday in Yellow Medicine County District Court. The court granted credit for 22 days served in jail.

The court ordered Iverson to serve the jail time and 10 years of supervised probation on the two counts, as well as pay fines and fees of $1,968.99 on one count and $250 on the other.

The criminal complaint alleges that he had sexual relations with two female victims ages 13 and 14 in 2013.
