Blomkest man facing charges for allegedly molesting 13-year-old

WILLMAR -- Gonzalo Sanchez, 41, of Blomkest, made his first appearance Monday on two first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges for alleged sexual contact last fall with a now 13-year-old girl.

Unconditional bail was set at $100,000 with conditional bail at $10,000. Conditions include no contact with the girl or her immediate family, no unsupervised contact with females under 18 and no assaultive behavior or weapons. His next appearance in Kandiyohi County District Court is June 28.

According to the complaint, a man and a woman came to the Law Enforcement Center on Feb. 22 reporting that their daughter, then 12, had been sexually assaulted. They reported that they had learned that Sanchez had touched the girl while she stayed over at his home in October or November. The girl later relayed similar information to a detective.

When interviewed, Sanchez denied touching the girl.
