Grain truck hung up: Willmar traffic snarled by semi mishap
WILLMAR -- Traffic at a key intersection in Willmar had to be rerouted Sunday for more than five hours after a semi got stuck while turning the corner at Litchfield Avenue and First Street.
Willmar Police were sent to the scene at 10:47 a.m. after receiving a call that the truck was blocking traffic.
Police said the truck, which was hauling grain, had been eastbound on Litchfield Avenue and was turning south onto First Street when the rear trailer tires struck the stoplight pole. Two of the rear axles were damaged and the truck was unable to move.
