Broadband project teeters on brink; Kandiyohi County officials still hopeful

Willmar MUC will hear results of Gomm investigation next week

WILLMAR - The Willmar Municipal Utilities Commission announced today it will hold a special meeting next Friday to discuss findings of an investigation of possible misconduct by MUC General Manager Bruce Gomm.

The meeting will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Feb. 10 in the Municipal Utilities Auditorium.

Commissioners placed Gomm on a 30-day paid administrative leave on Dec. 12 and hired the St. Cloud law firm of Quinlivan and Hughes to investigate Gomm's management of the MUC.

According to the special meeting notice the main topic of discussion will be to "review and act" on the recommendations of the law firm.

The law firm's fee will be paid by the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust on behalf of the Willmar Utilities. The trust serves as the commission's insurance provider as well as the city of Willmar.
