View our 2015 Focus project: A Day in the Life of west central Minnesota

Today the West Central Tribune published our 2015 Focus project: '"A Day in the Life."

On Feb. 24, we invited Tribune readers, as well as our co-workers, to join our news staff in documenting a normal day in the lives of people in west central Minnesota. We asked for tidbits of information from the day, as well as photographs, videos and diaries. We were overwhelmed by the response. Thank you all for your participation.

Four “Focus” sections — a compilation of just some of the information we received — are a part of our print edition today: Sections D, E, F and G. The sections include nearly 150 photos and excerpts from a number of diaries.

The day itself was an experience for many of us involved — and it didn’t go off without its glitches.

A fifth section is included on our online version, includes addition diaries and such.

One photographer received a dog bite while trying to get a particular photo and another staffer’s camera card became corrupted and she lost nearly everything — a full day’s work.

Still, it all came together in the end and we hope you enjoy the resulting product as much as many of you seemed to enjoy being a part of it all.

Enjoy videos clips of even more photos, videos and a complete look at all of our reader -submitted diaries — such as a poignant look inside the life of a dialysis patient — online at

For our online section, we also added a fifth section. And we also produced some videos of photos collected during the project.
