Burglaries

WILLMAR — Police received two reports Wednesday of apparent burglaries in southwest Willmar.

The first was reported around 2:15 p.m. from the 1100 block of Grace Avenue Southwest. A man reported that his window had been kicked out, which he discovered after it was pointed out by a neighbor.

The second incident was reported around 3 p.m. from the 700 block of 15th Street Southwest. A woman told police that she noticed a window screen had been removed, and it appeared someone had broken into her home.

Nothing appeared to be missing from either residence. Police are investigating the cases, trying to determine whether they are related to several suspicious person reports received earlier in the day.

Missing children

WILLMAR — Two children, 10 and 12 years old, were reported missing shortly before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday from Kennedy Elementary School in Willmar. Police located the children at a nearby park.

Suspicious person

WILLMAR — A Willmar man reportedly returned to his home on the 2300 block of Country Club Drive Northeast around 9 a.m. Thursday to find a minivan in his driveway. A man in the minivan offered to paint his garage door. The homeowner thought the offer was suspicious, so he reported it to the Willmar Police Department, and requested extra patrol in the area.

Missing child

WILLMAR — A woman found a small child walking down the road in rural Willmar, near the 5400 block of First Street North. She reported the lost child to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies contacted the boy's mother, who was unaware the boy had left the house.

Disturbance

NEW LONDON — A white flash of light and an explosion were reported around 9 p.m. Wednesday from the 5900 block of 240th Avenue Northeast in New London. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office was unable to locate the source of the disturbance.

Theft

WILLMAR — A full-size violin was stolen from the Willmar Middle School orchestra room, a man told the Willmar Police Department. He reported the theft around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Shoplifting

SPICER — Three men reportedly stole liquor from a Spicer business Tuesday night on the 300 block of State Highway 23 South. The theft was reported at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
