ACGC selects new superintendent
GROVE CITY— A new superintendent has been selected for the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City School District.
Following interviews Thursday with three finalists, the ACGC School Board agreed to offer the job to Nels Onstad, Director Of Educator Licensing, Minnesota Department of Education.
Pending negotiations, the board is expected to approve a contract with Onstad at the March 16 school board meeting. He would begin his new job on July 1.
Onstad will replace Sherri Broderius, who is retiring June 30 after working 34 years at ACGC. Broderius currently has a dual-role as superintendent and part-time principal.
Onstad will serve as a full-time superintendent.
"We believe Nels has the qualifications and skills to move the school district forward," said Michael Hendrickson, Board Chair. "We look forward to working with Nels in his new capacity."
The board had received 27 applications for the job.
Interviews with six finalists were conducted earlier this month and Thursday the board interviewed the final three finalists before selecting Onstad.
The other final two candidates were Brian Koslofsky, who is currently the superintendent at neighboring MACCRAY Public Schools, which includes the communities of Maynard, Raymond and Clara City, and Kristopher Lynk, principal at Sartell-St. Stephen Public Schools.
