Highway 22 project to begin Monday south of Litchfield
LITCHFIELD — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin work Monday on the state Highway 22 project south of Litchfield. The highway will be closed and motorists will need to use the detour of Meeker County Road 1. The project should be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.
According to a news release from MnDOT, the project includes the resurfacing of Highway 22 near Cedar Mills to the southern limits of Litchfield and the replacement culverts and construction of turning lanes.
The total project is estimated to cost $5.5 million and Knife River is the contractor. MnDOT held three open houses on the project.
