Public invited to share ideas on search for new Ridgewater president

WILLMAR — The public is invited to attend community listening sessions Wednesday to offer ideas about the search for a new college president.

The Willmar sessions will begin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room A240 in the Student Services building. In Hutchinson, the meeting will be at 11:10 a.m. in the Room 270 auditorium.

A national search for the new president will get underway shortly.

Minnesota State Interim Chancellor Devinder Malhotra will host the listening sessions

The purpose of the sessions is to hear from people in the community about the qualities they feel are important to have in the college's next president. Staff and faculty will offer input at separate meetings.

People who are unable to attend the listening sessions, may offer their views by sending comments to chancellor@minnstate.edu.

Former President Douglas Allen left the school on June 30, and Joe Opatz is serving as interim president during the search.
