Submitted A semi tractor and trailer are tipped over Monday on the railroad crossing at Swift County Road 20 and state Highway 9 North near Benson, spilling a load of turkey litter. The driver of the semi was not seriously hurt.

Semi rollover

BENSON — A semi tractor and trailer, carrying a load of turkey litter, tipped over at about 2:42 p.m. Monday onto the BNSF Railway crossing at Swift County Road 20 and state Highway 9 North in Benson. The driver of the semi, Jesse Grajczyk, 29, of Belgrade, was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries at the Swift County-Benson Hospital.

According to a news release from the Swift County Sheriff's Office, the semi was attempting a left-hand turn off Highway 9 and onto County Road 20 when the semi tipped onto its right side, stopping on the railroad. The semi also hit a railroad crossing light post.

The load of turkey litter spilled onto the rail area. The railroad was reopened around 9 p.m. Monday.

Assisting the Swift County Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Benson Police Department, Benson Fire, Swift County Benson Ambulance, Swift County Highway Department, the Minnesota State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Division, BNSF and Dan's Towing.

Public urination

RAYMOND — A caller reported to law enforcement Tuesday morning at 9:39 a.m. that someone had urinated on the floor in the Raymond Post Office lobby. Extra patrol in the area was requested. Law enforcement also advised the caller to perhaps put up a camera.
