Toward Zero Deaths honors Willmar Ambulance EMT
WILLMAR — James Kroona, a emergency medical technician with the Willmar Ambulance Service, was one of the 10 individuals and organizations honored by Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths for their work to improve traffic safety. The awards were announced at the statewide TZD conference Oct. 26-27 in St. Paul.
Kroona received the Emergency and Trauma Services Star Award, according to a news release from Minnesota TZD.
Star awards are given annually to recognize those who have shown leadership and creativity in their efforts to improve safety. The recipients display excellence in enforcement, emergency medical and trauma services, education, engineering, child passenger safety and judicial/court systems. They have also built partnerships with others working towards the same goal.
Kroona has been a TZD coalition member in Kandiyohi County for seven years. He works countless traffic safety hours and contributes to traffic safety enforcement waves and other initiatives within his community, according to the release.
The Minnesota TZD program is an interdisciplinary partnership with the state departments of Health, Transportation and Public Safety.
