Paynesville man arrested after domestic stabbing incident
PAYNESVILLE — A 39-year-old Paynesville man is in the Stearns County Jail on second-degree assault and domestic assault by strangulation charges for allegedly stabbing and assaulting a woman during a domestic incident early Saturday morning near Paynesville.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Raymond Scott Hanson was located near the Old Lake Road residence where the incident was reported around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. He was treated at Paynesville Hospital for a knife wound to the abdomen and released.
The victim reported she had been stabbed. The responding deputies found that she had a knife wound to her back. She was admitted to Paynesville Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Deputies are also investigating further for possible attempted murder charges.
Four seriously hurt in crash north of Glenwood
GLENWOOD – Four people were seriously injured in a head-on crash Sunday night near Glenwood in Pope County.
The accident involved a 2004 Ford pickup that was going south on state Highway 29 and a 2012 Chevy Equinox that was traveling north.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the pickup lost control and collided with the second vehicle.
Roads were in icy condition at the time of the accident, which happened around 8:20 p.m. about four miles north of Glenwood on Highway 29.
The Pope County Sheriff’s Department, Glenwood Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Glacial Ridge Ambulance, North Memorial Ambulance and Glenwood Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
Dassel man sustains minor injuries in snowplow crash
ATWATER — A 25-year-old Dassel man sustained minor injuries when the vehicle he was driving struck an Atwater city snowplow from behind Monday morning.
According to the State Patrol, Mathew Dlugopolski was driving a passenger car and struck the plow at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Third Street. The plow driver was not injured.
WILLMAR — The theft of a wallet from a locker was reported around 8:10 a.m. Monday at the YMCA, 1013 Lakeland Dr. S.E.
Passenger to hospital after crash near Wal-Mart/KEC
WILLMAR — A passenger in a vehicle involved in a two-vehicle crash around 9 p.m. Sunday along Fifth Street Southeast was taken by Willmar Ambulance Service to Rice Memorial Hospital.
According to the Willmar Police crash report, Marc Voeller, 19, was rear seat passenger in a 1990 Chevy pickup driven by Hunter Kavanagh, 19, of Willmar, that collided with a 1998 Chrysler driven by Harley Suchy, 18, of Grove City. Suchy was northbound on Fifth Street Southeast and was attempting to turn into the KEC parking lot while Kavanagh was southbound and attempting to turn into the Wal-Mart parking lot.
