Willmar,Minn., man hurt in head-on crash that closed Highway 12 temporarily

LITCHFIELD — A Willmar man is hospitalized following a crash involving a minivan and semi-truck at 3:51 a.m. on U.S. Highway 12 west of Litchfield.

Matthew Lindquist, 27, was transported by ambulance to Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, according to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office. His condition was unknown.

Lindquist was driving a 2000 Plymouth minivan westbound on Highway 12 when it crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound, 1997 International semi-trailer rig driven by Kevin Roelike, 58, of Sauk Centre.

The crash closed the highway and traffic was detoured for a couple of hours.

The crash is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
