People use different areas of Rice Park in southwest Willmar in this Nov. 3 file photo. A project approved last year was not completed when bids came in over budget. It is hoped the project to build a splash pad and shelter in the park may be rebid this year.

Novotny, Treml, Sylvia Koll and Wallin, four of the original eight, attended a reception in their honor. The exhibit is a partnership with The Barn Theatre and the Kandiyohi Historical Society. 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the strike protesting unequal pay. The exhibit coincides with The Barn's production "9 to 5: The Musical."

Crews work Wednesday on the first story and he second story of the newly named Lakeland Elementary School in southeast Willmar.
