National Farmers Union elects Peterson as secretary on board
SAINT PAUL - Doug Peterson, Minnesota Farmers Union President, will serve as Secretary of the National Farmers Union board of directors following his election to the post at the organization's national convention recently held in Washington D.C.
Peterson, 60, of Madison, said he looked forward to working with National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson in promoting the organization's agenda for farmers and rural America.
Peterson grew up on a Lac qui Parle farm and served in the state legislator as a representative from 1991- 2002 before serving as president of the Minnesota Farmers Union.
The organization represents people in 32 states throughout 25 state organizations and two regional organizations, according to information provided by it.
