Loch indicted, arrested on Meeker Co. shooting and related charges

LITCHFIELD -- Cassidy Jared Loch, 24, of Litchfield, was arrested around 6 p.m. Thursday just after a Meeker County grand jury indicted him on charges of attempted fourth-degree assault of a peace officer, driving while impaired, carrying a pistol while intoxicated and reckless handling of a firearm.

According to a news release from Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin, Loch was arrested at his residence by deputies without incident. He is in the county jail waiting his first appearance and a $12,000 cash or bond bail has been set.

Loch did make a court appearance this morning before District Judge Donald M. Spilseth on probation violation related to his October 2007 conviction for driving while impaired.

Loch is the man who was shot multiple times in the early morning hours of March 15 by Litchfield Police Officer Travis Rueckert. He was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.
