ROSELAND -- A 25-year-old Willmar man was arrested around 7 a.m. Monday near the intersection of County Road 5 and 210th Avenue Southwest. Driving while impaired charges are pending, based on toxicology reports.
- Scott Lee Jensen, 54, of Willmar, made his first appearance Monday on a felony check forgery charge for allegedly writing two checks from a man's account to himself without permission.
Unconditional bail was set at $5,000. Conditional bail was allowed on his personal recognizance. Jensen's next appearance is Jan. 4.
According to the complaint, Willmar police received a report on Nov. 19 that two checks had been written and cashed from an elderly relative's account at a local bank, but that the relative had not written the checks, which were listed as for assistance with yard work and home maintenance. The checks totaled $255.
The investigation revealed that Jensen had helped the man with yard work, but that he'd been paid with cash. The man also said that Jensen had been inside of his home. Information from the check cashing business showed the person cashing the checks used Jensen's ID card.
