Suspect arrested for Renville burglaries, citizens urged to check property
OLIVIA -- The Renville County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate several burglaries that have occurred in Renville County.
The majority of the burglaries occurred in late June or early July at rural, often unoccupied, farm sites and mini-storage units in and around Olivia, Bird Island, Morton and Hector.
According to a news release from the sheriff's office, a suspect has been identified and arrested. A very large amount of stolen property, including hand tools, tool boxes, power tools and equipment, antiques and collectibles has been located in Meeker County. Some of that property has been identified as having been stolen in Renville County burglaries; however, much more property is yet to be identified.
The sheriff's office is urging its residents to check on any farm sites, mini-storage units or other areas where tools and other belongings are stored or kept. If you discover that you are the victim of a burglary or theft, call Investigator Scott Hable at (320) 523-3773.
