Olivia, Minn., woman wins Ducks Unlimited pickup

OLIVIA — Tamara Revier tried to remind herself the odds were against her, but Ducks Unlimited reports that it didn’t matter.

Revier randomly selected the winning key and started up a new 2013 Chevrolet Silverado four-wheel drive pickup Feb. 9 at the Ducks Unlimited state convention in Brainerd.

“When I put the key in the ignition, it moved a little and then it moved a lot, and I about fell out of the seat,” DU quotes Revier as saying.

She was one of five finalists and hundreds qualifying for a chance to win the truck.

Last year’s winner was also from the region when Robyn Abner of Benson picked the right key.

The Revier family has been attending and supporting Ducks Unlimited events in Renville County and Redwood Falls since the 1990s.

Tamara Revier works as a payroll clerk and is a helping hand with her husband, Jeff. They own and run a cattle feedlot operation south of Olivia.

She is the mother of three sons, Josh, Scott and Mark.

Tamara Revier and her family have a tradition of hunting as a shared outdoor activity. “When the kids were young, we all hunted together, whether deer or waterfowl. Jeff and I have successfully bear hunted  together. I even remember taking just my youngest son, Mark, with me when he was still in diapers to goose hunt at Lac qui Parle. I will never forget the sound of a toddler yelling and ‘honking’ at the geese as they approached,” said Revier.
