Motorcyclist injured Thursday near Litchfield, Minn.

LITCHFIELD – A rural Hutchinson man was air-lifted Thursday night from the scene of a motorcycle accident near Litchfield.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Department, Joseph Butcher, 34, was injured when the 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving went onto the shoulder of the road and then into the ditch where it struck a field approach.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. on County Road 28 and 575th Avenue.

Butcher was going east on County Road 28 at the time of the accident, according to the sheriff’s report. He was air-lifted from the scene by Life Link Helicopter to the St. Cloud Hospital.

Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Litchfield Fire and Rescue, Gold Cross Ambulance and Life Link Helicopter responded to the accident.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.
