Officer shot, man killed in Woodbury

WOODBURY, Minn. (AP) -- A man was killed and an officer was wounded after police responded to a domestic disturbance in suburban Woodbury.

Police say officers were called to the residence about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

KMSP-TV reports that a man shot the officer, and that officers then returned fire, killing the man.

The wounded officer's injury is described as serious but non-life threatening. He was taken to a hospital.

Names have not been released.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is leading the investigation. The Washington County sheriff's office is also participating. Investigators were still on the scene this morning, and planned to release more information at 11 a.m.
