Minnesota police find girl after 4-hour Amber Alert
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (AP) -- Brooklyn Park police have taken a teenage suspect into custody following a reported child abduction that prompted a 4½-hour Amber Alert.
Police say a 16-year-old girl was walking Thursday afternoon with her 3- and 4-year old niece and nephew. Witnesses told authorities that a vehicle pulled up and two males got out, and that one male told the teen to come with him.
Investigators say when she refused, the male grabbed her and forced her into the back seat. The two children were left behind, unhurt.
Police issued an Amber Alert about 8:50 p.m. They cancelled it Friday about 1:15 a.m., saying the girl had been found safe and a 17-year-old boy taken into custody.
