Annual women's fishing tourney to be held June 4 on Lake Osakis

Women Anglers of Minnesota has announced its 39th annual women’s fishing tournament will be held June 4 at Lake Osakis.

The multi-species fundraising tournament will be headquartered at Head of the Lakes Resort, where women from across Minnesota and neighboring states come together to fish for 23 different trophies and $8,000 in prize money.

All skill levels are welcome.

Though it is an individual contest, any number of women is allowed in a boat.

The grand prize fish is worth $2,000.

The tournament fee is $130 per person and includes dinner on Friday and Saturday night, plus and annual membership in WAM. The registration deadline is Friday, May 20.

Tournament entry fees help raise money to promote and operate kids’ fishing clinics throughout the year.

The club also donates hundreds of new rods and reels to children who are learning how to fish.
