Submitted/ Yellow Medicine County pursued an expedited process to gain possession of the vacant Clarkfield School buildings, but the interior damage due to water and mold and the clutter from materials left behind led them to conclude that most of the buildings will need to be razed. Emily Schlecht, a former Willmar resident who was sexually assaulted in 2015, gives a tearful speech Sunday at a rally held outside the Kandiyohi County Courthouse in Willmar. Schlecht reported the sexual assault to the police a month after the incident occurred and was later informed there was not enough evidence to charge her perpetrator with the crime. She said her case is now being reopened.
