Live it!: Fashion tips to beat spring
The land of constantly changing weather.
By this time of year, spring fever has us chomping at the bit.
We’re praying and hoping for those warmer days so we can shed our parkas and frolick through the streets, coffee in hand.
Finally, the day comes when you look at the forecast and see a high of 63 degrees.
But that doesn’t mean the mornings will be warm. We sit in front of our closets contemplating between a warm winter sweater, or a springy chiffon blouse.
Here are five ways to dress (confidently) for Minnesota weather and not destroy that spring fever of yours.
For some of us, mixing and matching prints and patterns is a bit intimidating.
But I know you can do it!
It’s such a fun way to incorporate your springy floral items.
TIP: Start by mixing stripes and floral prints, large prints with small prints.
Whites + Neutrals
Wearing bright whites with soft neutrals is an easy and chic way to make your spring style feel fresh and clean.
TIP: Quality matters. Consider the fabric — you don’t want people seeing through! Invest in a pair of nice and thick trousers.
These beauties are everywhere this year! Wear either a vest or jacket with a flirty spring dress or your favorite pair of denim — the utility jacket will instantly add an alternative, but functional, vibe to your style!
TIP: Utility jackets are great for any time of the year. My tip? Buy one!
Put those winter boots away and treat yourself to a new pair of strappy sandals or spring booties! Chunky heels, lace up sandals and laser cut booties are incredibly hot right now!
TIP: I love shoes in a camel color. They go with anything and everything.
Pantones of the year
I find one of the easiest ways to refresh your style this season is by wearing the Pantone Colors of the Year: Serenity and Rose Quartz.
These beauiful hues add a subtle pop of color to your wardrobe without being too loud.
TIP: Feeling a little uneasy about these pastels? Start small with a Rose Quartz colored handbag or pair of heels in a shade of Serenity.
