Hwy. 12 open house set Monday in Litchfield
LITCHFIELD — The first open house for a 2019 project on U.S. Highway 12 in downtown Litchfield will be Monday at Litchfield City Hall.
The open house runs from 4:30 to 6 p.m., with a presentation about the project at 5 p.m., and live polling activity to get feedback from the public. Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 requires a review of any project which goes through historic properties. This project will go through historic downtown Litchfield, and citizens will be able to learn more about the Section 106 process at the open house. The process includes input from the public
MnDOT will reconstruct four blocks of U.S. Highway 12 and state Highway 22, including sidewalks and updating pedestrian crosswalks to meet Americans with Disabilities standards.
