Midwest Cup: Herron to play in Midwest Cup 'Am-Am'
Minnesota PGA pro golfer Tim Herron will conduct a clinic prior to, and he will play in, the Midwest Cup "Am-Am" today at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar.
The Midwest Cup, a 54-hole event that begins Friday, features 10-player teams from eight states. Team Minnesota includes Eagle Creek golfers Andy Jacobson, Danny Anderson and Matt Gorans.
The "Am-Am" pairs local golfers with Midwest Cup competitors.
The Cup event continues on Saturday and the championship matches are Sunday at Eagle Creek.
A four-time PGA Tour winner "Lumpy" Herron's short clinic begins at 1 p.m.
Herron turned professional in 1993 and had played in 37 majors. He's won won over $19 million. He also has a beer named after him: Lumpy's Lager by Excelsior Brewing Company.
The public is welcome to come out to watch Herron and the "Am-Am."
