Meeker County Ditch 47 plans to be discussed Tuesday
LITCHFIELD — The Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District is hosting an open house and information session to present potential and upcoming improvements to the Middle Fork Crow River in Meeker County, also known as Meeker County Ditch 47.
It will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Meeker County Courthouse, 325 N. Sibley Ave., Litchfield.
The 11 miles of the Middle Fork Crow River downstream of Lake Calhoun is channelized. The stretch is degraded and erosion is a significant problem.
An engineering study has identified eight potential projects along the stretch to address the erosion issues.
Interested and affected landowners along the waterway are encouraged to attend the open house.
