Boys Basketball: Undefeated Willmar surges past Becker

BECKER — The Willmar boys basketball team reached double digits in wins in as many games, riding a strong first half to a 74-49 victory over Becker in a non-conference victory on Tuesday.

Noah Slagter narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 35 points and nine rebounds.

Slagter did most of his work inside, scoring 20 points in the paint and making all nine of his free throws.

Ryan Slette came through with 15 points, Adam Roux and Ty Roelofs both scored eight points, and Roux had four steals and Roelofs had three steals.

The Cardinals resume Central Lakes Conference play on Thursday at Rocori at 7:15 p.m. in Cold Spring.

Jackson Johnsrud led the way with 22 points as Minnewaska downed Yellow Medicine East on Tuesday night in a non-conference game.

Johnsrud also grabbed eight rebounds and hit three 3-pointers for the Lakers. Garrett Jensen had 10 points and nine boards while Grant Jensen scored eight points and pulled in nine rebounds.

Trent Skjefte had 17 points for the Sting.

Central Minnesota Christian School held Tracy-Milroy-Balaton to 18 second half points and the Bluejays won their second game of the season in a Camden Conference game on Tuesday in Tracy.

CMCS' Austin TeBrake scored a team-high 23 points and he completed the double-double with 10 rebounds. Micah Meyer finished with seven points and six boards.
